Dan Weightman - President

Originally from Pittsburgh, Dan has served as a youth pastor both stateside and abroad.  A position with Young Life is what brought him to the Bahamas in 1999.  He has lived and served the Bahamian youth for 13 years on Long Island, Bahamas.  After finishing a masters thesis on responsible missions and indigenous ministry, God led him and him wife to start the Caribbean Youth Network.

 

As an ordained minister with the Evangelical Ministerial Association he continues to live in Nassau, Bahamas, where the directs the ministry and works heavily in developing the partnership with the Bahamas Youth Network, which he helped to plant years ago.  In 2013,  he initiated a new college campus ministry in Nassau and works diligently to partner with other organizations of like-mindedness and network people together for the furthering of the Kingdom.

Kelly Weightman - Ministry Coordinator, Nassau

Kelly has also served in full-time youth ministry within the Bahamas since 1999 with her husband, Dan.  She is also a native of Pittsburgh where she was raised and earned a Bachelor's degree from Westminster College in Christian Education and Youth Ministry.  

 

Kelly's position as the ministry coordinator keeps her involved with the Bahamas Youth Network partnerships on Long Island and Nassau. For many years her focus was on direct ministry with teens, event planning, and leadership training on Long Island.  Since 2013 and a relocation to Nassau, her main emphasis is now upon college campus ministry, developing partnerships, mentoring, and coordinating discipleship among college students.  

Gabe Swing - Out Island Coordinator

Gabe Swing has been involved in transformative ministry since 1998.  Gabe and his wife Jan met on a short term mission trip to Mexico.  They were married on an island off the coast of North Carolina in 2000 and they have two children, Kenny and Grace. Gabe graduated from UNCC with a BA in Psychology and from Southeastern Seminary with a Masters of Divinity.  

 

Gabe has served as a youth pastor in Charlotte, Lake Norman Area and Myrtle Beach, SC.  Gabe was ordained as a Minister in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in 2005.  

 

The Swing family moved in February 2012 to Long Island, Bahamas, to join the ministry of the Caribbean Youth Network.  Gabe served as the ministry coordinator on Long Island until summer of 2015.   He and his family now live in Abaco where he serves as the Out Island Coordinator for staff on the smaller islands.  He is also pastoring a church plant of the Presbyterian Church in Marsh Harbour.

 

Jan spends many hours contributing to ministry as well.  She serves a particular role in the hosting of short term mission teams.

Bob Mastin - Ministry Coordinator, Nassau

Bob Mastin has been in student ministry for 15 years. Prior to arriving in Nassau, he spent 14 years in Upstate NY as a Youth and Associate Pastor. Bob met his wife Donna in NJ and they have been married for 33 years. They have 3 grown children. 
Bob graduated from Liberty University with a bachelors degree in Physical Education and he is an ordained minister through the Evangelical Ministerial Association. 
Bob and Donna moved to Nassau in October of 2017 to join the CYN staff, where he serves as a Ministry Coordinator. 
Donna serves alongside Bob and works in many areas of the CYN as needed.

Sarah Miller - Accountant

Sarah grew up in Pittsburgh and was in the Youth Program at Hebron Church where Dan and Kelly had their start working with the youth.  She graduated from Waynesburg University in 2002 with a degree in Forensic Accounting and worked with a Forensic Accounting firm until 2012.   Sarah started part-time as Treasurer at Hebron Church in 2006 and became full-time in 2012. Currently, she lives in the Pittsburgh area with her husband and two girls and is working part-time as the CYN accountant.

Barrett Hendrickson - Ministry Coordinator, Abaco

Barrett grew up in Pittsburgh, in the Youth Program at Hebron Church where Dan and Kelly had also grown up.  Barrett graduated from Geneva College in 2002 with a degree in Youth Ministry. He also earned an MDiv from Reformed Theological Seminary. Barrett served at Hebron in 2001-2020 working with students and leading worship. The Hendricksons (wife-Carrie, daughters-Marissa, Cortina & Paisley and son-Soren) are excited to be doing family and student ministry on Abaco.

Carrie Hendrickson - Ministry Coordinator, Abaco

Carrie grew up in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. Carrie graduated from Geneva College, in Beaver Falls, PA, with a degree in Student Ministries. She spent 19 years at Hebron Church in Penn Hills, PA, working her way from a student ministry associate to the Director of Student Ministry. Carrie brings years of experience teaching,  and discipling students, and building leadership teams. She also has a background in art, which she looks forward incorporating in her ministry in the Abacos.
